The closer the draft draws, the more it looks like the Chicago Bears will be in prime position to seriously remake their roster depending the board.

Odds are they will decide to stay put at #3, but then again Ryan Pace is a scout at heart. He’s a man who has to feel how much good he might be able to do with extra draft picks. Extra high draft picks no less. It’s all about finding a team willing to make that deal. Even if they fell out of the top 10, the odds are good they’ll still end up with a quality player and a chance to acquire several more. Here is one way it could go.

1st Round (via CLE)

57. No team is more readily equipped than the Cleveland Browns to move up the board. They have a wealth of extra draft picks at their disposal. All it takes is to provide them incentive. There is a strong chance the #3 pick will hold the key to getting a quarterback of choice in the 1st round. By offering up backup center Hroniss Grasu, a position of need for Cleveland, as sweetener the Bears are able to corral a significant ransom of picks. Not to mention a 28-year old former Pro Bowl corner.
That haul should allow the Bears to really infuse their roster with more talent and depth, freeing Ryan Pace to take a quarterback at #12. Patrick Mahomes as widely considered one of the two most talented at the position in this class. A big kid with a powerful arm who can throw some pretty impressive passes at all levels of the field. He’s also mobile and difficult to sack thanks to his strength. He’ll need time to correct his fundamental issues, but it will be worth the wait.
. QB. Texas Tech. Patrick Mahomes . 12. player
