Philadelphia is allowing their young quarterback to assist in the NFL Draft process

Carson Wentz was drafted less than a year ago, but he’s already becoming a critical piece of the Philadelphia Eagles organization. After a strong rookie campaign, Wentz is continuing to help the Eagles through their offseason.

Last week Wentz worked out with two receivers the Eagles could target in the upcoming NFL Draft. Eastern Washington wide receiver Cooper Kupp and Cal prospect Chad Hansen ran a workout with the Eagles quarterback, hinting towards the possibility the Eagles could draft either receiver in April.

Having the young quarterback get to know potential draft picks at the receiver position is a smart move on multiple fronts. He can look for chemistry on and off the field, while also give a personal scouting report back to the organization.

Kupp had a fantastic performance at the Senior Bowl that raised his draft stock dramatically. The 6’2 receiver had 17 receiving touchdowns last year for the Eagles, and could develop into a starter with the NFL team bearing the same name.

Kupp is expected to be drafted between the second or third round, and could be an option for Philadelphia with their high second round pick.

Hansen had a breakout season for Cal that resulted in over 1,200 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. Look for him to be drafted between rounds four through six.
