Hats off to the Chicago Bears. They continue to fight. Unfortunately the injuries are just robbing them of the ability to finish games at this point.

Even so there are plenty encouraging signs with this team. The defense is playing really well and the offense looks like it might be healthy receivers away from putting some points on the board. There is a lot of work left to do for GM Ryan Pace and his front office. It’s well know that the 2017 NFL draft could potentially vault this team into playoff contention. Can they get it done?

1st Round (via TEN)

LSU. Jamal Adams . 1. player. 57. Just re-watching the Lions game will give Bears fans a reminder again of just how lost this team is at the safety position. Too long they’ve tried to get by with past-their-prime veterans, undrafted free agents and low round picks. It’s no coincidence their last great safety, Mike Brown was a high selection. They need to start seriously investing at that position if their secondary is ever going to match how good their front seven is becoming.
Everybody talks about Jabrill Peppers but in reality LSU standout Jamal Adams might be the best safety in the 2017 draft class. He’s big, strong, tough, experienced and versatile. His primary success comes as a box safety where he sniffs out screens and excels against the run. However, that overshadows how sneaky good he’s been in coverage. He understands how to play the center fielder role and has enough athleticism to line up on tight ends. Just a good, all-around player.
. S
