The 2017 NFL mock draft season is kicking into high gear as teams begin to gain a firmer footing on where they will likely be picking in five months.

Barring an incredible turnaround, the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers look like locks for the #1 and #2 spots respectively. The real action over the final four games of the season will be determining who fills the remaining eight spots of the top 10 behind them. After that things should become clearer in regards to likely targets in the upcoming class.

1. Cleveland Browns

1. player. 53. Like any draft it’s about weighing needs vs. the quality of the prospects involved. For the Cleveland Browns it will be about a simple question. Can they justify a quarterback being good enough to trump the best player on the board. If they can’t, then it would be a massive risk to take one. Where this team is more fortunate than others is the fact they have two 1st round picks in their pocket. Thus they’re free to use the #1 overall to take whomever they feel is best.
Most experts agree that title belongs to Myles Garrett. The Texas A&M pass rush is the best to come out of college in some time. Maybe not as physically gifted as Jadeveon Clowney but more accomplished. He is a gifted athlete with size and strength. That means he can play in any defense. His primary ability is slicing into the backfield and wreaking havoc. Power. Speed. Agility. He has it all in addition to good polish. This is the type of talent teams change cultures with.
. DE. Texas A&M. Myles Garrett
