The Tennessee Titans have had an excellent season offensively, and one player breaking out for them is wide receiver Rishard Matthews…

The Tennessee Titans are seeing big seasons offensively from a number of players, and they may have found a number one receiver in the form of Rishard Matthews, the former Miami Dolphin.

Matthews is on a tear over the last two months, but over the course of the whole season, he’s been excellent for the Titans. So far this season, he’s caught a career high 48 passes for 669 yards and seven touchdowns. All of those numbers are career marks for Matthews.

If you’re a fantasy football player, Matthews isn’t generating WR1 hype at this point, but in this Titans offense, he’s a very steady WR2 or flex option, and has scored all seven of his touchdowns over the last eight weeks.

He’s got just one game this season with over 100 yards, which came in a loss to the Indianapolis Colts. What’s even more important is that he’s gaining the confidence of the Titans’ offensive coaching staff and quarterback Marcus Mariota.

Matthews spent four seasons with the Miami Dolphins in a complimentary role, but signed on with the Titans for three years, $15 million in an effort to make a name for himself. He’s well on his way to doing that, even though the Titans had somewhat of a logjam at wide receiver going into the Summer.

After weeding out players like Justin Hunter and Dorial Green-Beckham, Matthews’ role on the team gained some clarity.

His next test will be one of his greatest, as the Titans are set to face off against the Denver Broncos coming out of their bye week.
