For both the New York Jets and the Kansas City Chiefs, both teams are in their respective spaces looking up to their biggest hurdle. Both 1-1 teams are looking at the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos respectively with hopes of knocking off the darlings of their divisions. Coincidentally, both teams are also the biggest competition to both the Patriots and Broncos as potential division winners. All that said, the contest between the Jets and Chiefs has vital early season implications as both teams can very well find themselves playoff bound.

A fight poster of Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick vs. Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith doesn’t exactly excite the masses. Yet, this contest presents two quarterbacks who don’t grab your attention immediately but they still find ways to win games. The matchup also presents a pair of pass catching tandems, Jets WRs Brandon Marshall & Eric Decker and Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin & TE Travis Kelce, who will have considerable say-so as to who walks away with a big early season win. Will the Chiefs bounce back from a week two loss or will the Jets rack up a key road win against a solid Jets team? Let’s break down this interesting matchup.
