The Seattle Seahawks enter Miami to take on the Dolphins at 4:15 ET. Both teams have experienced a shift at the running back position. T

he Seahawks are looking towards last year’s sensation in Thomas Rawls while the Dolphins have newly acquired Arian Foster in the house. While Rawls did a lot of great things for the Seahawks last season, he did suffer an injury that has lingered into the 2016 playing season.

Christine Michael, a former practice squad player and a guy who was cut last year, will see the starting snaps in today’s game. The teams come from two different backgrounds.

The Seahawks are looking to maintain success and the Dolphins are hoping new head coach Adam Gase can spark a difference.

Key Players

Christine Michael…

Rawls had a breakout year last season but the injuries have hampered his time coming into this year. Christine Michael looked great in the preseason and will have the opportunity to showcase more of that success against the Dolphins.

The Seahawks are running a newly formed committee system now that Marshawn Lynch has retired (so he says). There’s an opportunity for both Rawls and Michael to make an impact but Michael will have the first shot to hold the reins.

The Seahawks have heavily relied on the run game in the past and the runner with the most success will see the heavier load.

Ryan Tannehill…

Tannehill is about as up and down of a quarterback as one can find. There are weeks where he flashes dominance and weeks where he looks like a wide receiver playing quarterback.

Adam Gase is known for his ability to work with quarterbacks and put them in comfortable situations.

The Seahawks boast arguably the best secondary in football, a nice test for Tannehill and his new head coach.

Frank Clark…

The Seahawks lost Bruce Irvin in the off-season but may have an even better option in Frank Clark. While Irvin was great as a pass rusher, Clark looks more comfortable along the line and offers more than situational upside.

The Dolphins have a young offensive line for Clark to boost confidence with. If the Seahawks go up early, it could be a long day for Tannehill in the backfield.

Prediction

Gase will have his hands full in his first real NFL head coaching experience. With Arian Foster on the team he’ll have some veteran experience but overall it may come down to a learning experience across the board.

The Dolphins have a talented football team, but it’s hard to see them coming away with a win in this one.
