The Florida State Seminoles battled from a large early deficit to beat Ole Miss, and they did it with the help of senior pass rusher DeMarcus Walker…

Week one of the college football season is a huge opportunity for players to make a name for themselves, and senior pass rusher DeMarcus Walker of Florida State did just that. We’d already seen what he can do last season, as he notched 10.5 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss to go along with five pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and a blocked kick.

The intensity ramped up a bit on Monday night as the Seminoles took on Ole Miss in Orlando, and Walker had a monstrous game. It has set some unfair expectations for the rest of the season, but Walker finished Monday’s game against the Rebels with 4.5 sacks, 4.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and six tackles.

I almost forgot about the partridge in a pear tree…

Walker was making plays all over the place, and at 6-3, 276 pounds, he’s able to have his way at a variety of positions.

Here’s Walker lined up against a guard, and he just flat out beats him with a beautiful swim move to the inside, and he uses his agility to close on the quarterback quickly after he beats the lineman.

This is just incredible strength for a football player. Walker gets caught up with the right guard this time instead of the left guard, and he just flat out throws him out of the way. It’s really something…

This guy was absolutely flying all over the field on Monday night, and there wasn’t much the Ole Miss coaching staff or offensive line could do to stop him. He’s certainly going to be receiving a lot of double teams the rest of the way this season, but he’s off to a great start for the NFL scouts, showing he can rack up sacks against the 11th ranked team in the country on a big platform.
