The Alabama Crimson Tide have completed an incredible run that ended with a 14-1 record, an SEC title, a Cotton Bowl victory, and topped it off with a 45-40 victory against Clemson in the championship for the school’s 16th.

With 11 returning starters, and several key role players returning, repeating is not out of the question for Alabama, despite the brutal road schedule (Ole Miss, Tennessee, and LSU). All it takes is losing no more than one game, and winning the SEC title, easier said than done.

However, there is a lot of reason to believe they can return to not just the college football playoff, but the national championship. Despite some distractions in the offseason Alabama comes into the season primed to make noise in the SEC, and will more than likely be the favorite heading into the season to win the division barring any unforeseen disasters.

Here are five reasons why the Crimson Tide can make it to Tampa this year, and win the 2017 College Football Playoff championship for the second straight season.
