At the age of 35, the chance Michael Vick straps on the helmet again is growing slim. Despite missing two years of his career for violating the NFL personal conduct policy and serving prison time, Vick was able to make a comeback with the Philadelphia Eagles and rejuvenate his NFL career for a couple more years.

After a five-year stint with the Philadelphia Eagles, Vick bounced around the east coast with the Jets and Steelers. During week six of last season, Vick pulled his hamstring running out-of-bounds and did not play for the rest of the season.

Since then he has yet to receive a single phone call from an NFL team regarding his services. When talking to reporters last week at the Ron Jaworski Celebrity Golf Challenge Vick described the situation as a “stalemate,” but believes he still has another season in him.

"“As of right now, it’s pretty much at a stalemate type of thing. Just taking the days as it comes, but most importantly for me, I just have to continue to work out and train. I would love to play this year, suit up for another run at it. I still feel like I could play and there is a lot left in the tank.”"

Despite Mike Vick saying he feels like he has another year left in him, he told Joe DeCamara of 97.5 The Fanatic that he “isn’t looking for a phone call right now.”

"I’ve been spending a lot of time with family. Trying to figure out my next step in life… still staying in shape, still working out. I haven’t lost sight that I want to be a football player. That’s still up in the balance, but you know I’m staying optimistic. I’ve been in this situation last year and I know what it takes to be consistent and remain steady, and not be impatient.Phone’s not ringing. My agent and I usually talk later in the summer. I’m not looking for a phone call right now."

It will take a good opportunity for Vick to play one more NFL season. He said he won’t jump at any offer and he is still looking for that final shot at winning himself at Super Bowl ring.

Should his career be over though, the former number one overall pick proved to have a decent career before and after his off the field issues. He is the all-time leader in rushing yards by a quarterback in both a season and a career.

He ranks among the top five in the majority of Atlanta Falcons career stats by a quarterback and ranks within the top 10 in similar categories by an Eagles quarterback.
