There have been plenty of mock drafts over the past several weeks that depict what they feel is the best possible outcome for the Chicago Bears, but in truth what they’re doing is posing scenarios.

It’s without question that the draft could go any number of different ways for them.  The number of possibilities are staggering because everything hinges on what the other 31 teams will do.  Thus this article is centered on laying out a handful of those results with each mock having a different focus in mind.

QUARTERBACK

Make no mistake.  The chances are very real that Ryan Pace may decide to take this opportunity to get his quarterback of the future since the Bears don’t expect to be picking this high again for awhile.  So this scenario centers around grabbing their eventual successor to Jay Cutler.

Perhaps the most talented overall quarterback in the draft but not yet ready to handle a pro offense.  Ideal choice to sit and learn behind Jay Cutler.. QB. Memphis. Paxton Lynch . 11. player. 57

57. Gifted edge rusher with enough athleticism for outside linebacker.  Drops due to lingering concerns about his lack of explosion and off-the-field history.. OLB. Eastern Kentucky. Noah Spence . 41. player

player. 57. Emerging defensive lineman with size, length, speed and a non-stop motor.  Can add the needed weight to play 3-4 defensive end.. DE. Penn State. Carl Nassib . 72

57. Throwback banger who sets the tone with his hits and is almost never out of position.  Can direct the action from the back end.. S. Southern Utah. Miles Killebrew . 106. player

LSU. Rashard Robinson . 127. player. 57. Gifted corner with plenty of size and agility but suffered from focus issues in school.  Must improve his build and his discipline.. CB

57. Not as productive as his high profile teammate Treadwell, but a talented receiver with a good mix of size and speed.  Needs to polish up his game.. WR. Ole Miss. Cody Core . 150. player

57. Lost in the loaded backfield at Georgia.  Able runner with instant home run speed.  A threat to score every time he touches the ball.. RB. Georgia. Keith Marshall . 185. player

Iowa. Henry Krieger Coble . 206. player. 57. A good athlete with enough ability to both impact as a blocker and a pass catcher.  Not a high ceiling but can be a regular contributor.. TE

West Virginia. Nick Kwiatkoski . 230. player. 57. Former safety who is still learning to play inside linebacker.  Plenty of athleticism and nasty.  At the very least he’ll be a welcome special teams addition with defensive upside.. ILB
