Short of the scouting combine, there is no more important predraft event during an NFL calendar year than the Senior Bowl.  It features some of the top prospects in the country and can often have profound impact on their stocks.  With game almost at hand, here is a rundown of some of the loudest buzz coming out of Mobile and what it could mea.

Carson Wentz towers over all quarterbacks

That shouldn’t be a surprise.  Joe Flacco was the last notable small school quarterback who successfully made the jump into the 1st round of an NFL draft.  Given how well things turned out there, it’s easy to see why so many teams are ready to accept Carson Wentz as a similar possibility.

Provided of course he shows he has the physical and mental faculties required to succeed at the pro level.  All signs at the Senior Bowl indicate that’s the case.  He’s got the best arm (by far) down there coupled with a big body, solid mobility and advanced understanding of offensive schemes.  It’s little wonder teams are elevating him.
