Georgia running back Nick Chubb suffered a gruesome knee injury Saturday afternoon, most likely ending his season. The sophomore running back’s left knee buckled while he was heading out of bounds on his first play of the game. The knee seemed to go in then out under Chubb, leaving him struggling on the ground.

Georgia currently leads Tennessee 24-10 midway through the SEC match-up.

Warning, this video is gruesome

In 2015, Chubb had 745 yards and seven touchdowns before going down with the injury. In two seasons, he had nearly 2,300 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns. Chubb had 13 straight 100-yard rushing games, which was a University of Georgia record.

He also has the third-most yards from scrimmage after contact in the Power 5 since 2014 with 1,061 yards. He entered the season a Heisman Trophy candidate, but LSU’s Leonard Fournette has taken a commanding lead over the leading spot.

His former teammate Todd Gurley, who suffered a torn ACL while at Georgia, sent his sympathies to Chubb on Twitter.

Other members of the college football community also reached out to Nick Chubb, offering their thoughts and prayers as he heads towards recovery.

Sophomore Sony Michel got the bulk of the carries for Georgia. He had more than 120 rushing yards with time still remaining in the first half. Michel’s yardage came predominately from a 66-yard run in the first half of the game.

Remember that Nick Chubb is not draft eligible for 2016. A timetable or exact diagnosis on Chubb’s knee is still not determined by Georgia’s medical staff.
