NFL Mocks Round Table: Predicting The Toilet Bowl

Alright Mocks Fans, it’s about time we have a little summer fun! We’ve spent so much time digging into positional breakdowns, scouting footage, predictions and all, I figured it’s about time the writers and I had a little bit of fun!

More from NFL Mocks

When I was a kid, and even to this day, my Dad always loved telling me this joke. He would say “well, you’ve got the Super Bowl, the Rose Bowl, the Cotton Bowl, and now the Toilet Bowl”. A few years back when I was doing a radio show, I decided in the NFL Offseason to make the “Toilet Bowl” a real thing. It consists of the two WORST teams in the NFL battling out for the number one pick in the NFL Draft the following year. So I decided to bring this here to NFL Mocks and see what our writers had to say!

"I’d go Niners VS Browns for the toilet bowl with the Browns coming out victorious. The Niners had probably the worst offseason is NFL history and will be lucky to win 5 games. The Browns, well….they are the Browns. They lost their best WR and have zero options at QB. Not a great recipe for success"

"It’s obvious that the two worst teams in the NFL talent wise are the Cleveland Browns and the Washington Redskins. They both play in tough divisions and I believe will both finish in the 3-13 range. However, The Cleveland Browns will have the number one selection in next year’s draft. The McCown/Manziel thing will flame out really quickly. Duke Johnson will be a lone shining star in this offense for the future, but this offense may reach an all time low. Either Connor Cook or Christian Hackenburg will lead this team in 2016. Not Money Manziel"

"There is no question the Cleveland Browns have done little improving since the end of last season. Their quarterback situation may actually have gotten worse, they still have no serious answers at wide receiver and are a soap opera at the top. I believe the team competing with them will be….wait for it…..the San Francisco 49ers. There is no way you can tell me this team can put together a competitive season after the losses they just suffered in talent, leadership and coaching."

"The Cleveland Browns and the Tennessee Titans for the toilet bowl in 2015. I think the Titans are going to at least be fun to watch, but wins could be hard to come by with the amount of youth they have offensively. That doesn’t mean I think they’re going to be a bad team, but they might struggle. The Browns, I think, are a bad team offensively. If they are going to win anywhere near the number of games they did last year, it’s going to be on the defense to hold opponents to 13 or 14 points a game or less. Offensively, the Browns’ skill positions are the least talented I’ve evaluated this offseason, save for some depth at running back."

"The Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers will be battling for the first pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. The 49ers have gotten much worse this offseason, and the Titans offense won’t prove to be any better than what shows initially on paper. Two teams that need to do some rebuilding and will take advantage of early picks."

"As for me, I’m going with the Cleveland Browns and the Washington Redskins battling to see who gets flushed down the Toilet Bowl first. It’s crazy that the Browns have as much talent as they do, yet nothing they can do to win with it. The Redskins are just all over the place at this point. The defense hasn’t improved much at all, and the quarterback situation hasn’t gotten any better. In the end, I still see the Browns getting flushed down first due to the incredible quarterback dilemma that involves Johnny Manziel and Josh McCown. If it were my team, and those were my options, I’d just sell the team and start from scratch at that point."
