A lot of people will try to downplay the idea from inside the Washington Redskins organization, but there is little reason to believe 2015 is not a final audition for quarterback Robert Griffin III and head coach Jay Gruden.  That became true the moment new GM Scot McCloughan took over.  Neither the coach nor the player were brought in by him, which instantly gives rise to the belief he’ll want to find ones who better fit the style of team he wants to build.

Hence the need to win this season.  Beliefs are already strong that RGIII is destined to fail, and if he fails it’s hard to see the Redskins doing much in the win column, especially in that tough NFC East division.

So if both coach and quarterback were to go next January after another losing season, here are some replacement ideas to keep an eye on for each.

HEAD COACH

Seattle. Darrell Bevell. 1. player. 36. Hiring a head coach always should start with connections.  Scot McCloughan has several around the NFL and his most recent string out to the Pacific Northwest where he helped the Seattle Seahawks win the Super Bowl as a senior personnel advisor.  That puts him in direct contact with Pete Carroll as his talented coaching staff.  So far two defensive coordinators have already earned top jobs elsewhere.  One name that continues to generate buzz is Darrell Bevell.  The offensive coordinator is well-versed in molding quarterbacks, having coached the likes of Brett Favre and Russell Wilson to great success.  Spending a number of years under Carroll likely has taught him some critical lessons..
