Best NFL Helmet Design: Mocks Roundtable

facebooktwitterreddit

The NFL helmet is more than a piece of protective equipment. It represents a team; a city; a symbol. The NFL Mocks crew got together and discussed which helmet does more than its primary purpose. Which helmet has the best visual appeal? Which team utilized its prideful colors and logo the best in the design? What makes that piece of the uniform such an attractive sight? The NFL Mocks staff entered a much spirited debate Monday evening over which helmet best reflects all those qualities. The bold is the initial reaction of the writer, while the basic text are my ever-famous snarky comments. Enjoy!

Erik Lambert: Pittsburgh Steelers

Agree with that. The colors are obviously symbolic of the city and reflect well under the lights.

Matthew Holowiak: San Diego Chargers helmets are the best for “their elegant yet simple and classy (look) at the same time.”

Personally, I think they’re a little bland, but I agree it’s a classic look.

Joe Wedra: Jacksonville Jaguars

This caused much debate. I personally think the Jaguars helmets look like spray paint but thats none of my business. O wait…)

Terry Lambert: Houston Texans

It’s simple, it look nice. Not arguing here

George Stockburger: Why not the Vikings? The 3D aspect/shadowing of the horn is a nice touch

100% agree with this guy! Finally someone who knows what he’s talking about

Jonah Tuls: Miami Dolphins for their “stunning combination of light blue and orange that strikes the retina with absolute precision and beauty.”

We got a real writer here folks. The color scheme definitely jumps out at me, but not as romantically as my man Jonah sees it

Bo Martin: Seahawks, but loves the Jaguars helmet

Poor guy, he’s a Jags fan

Lance Poirrier: Seahawks. I like their color scheme and the use of the dog tooth (or the carbon fiber I’ve been told) pattern. They seem to be the “designer” helmet of the NFL.

Wow, breaking it down to the science. Nice!

Sayre Bedinger: Seahawks are “probably the best”

Not disagreeing with you there. Very visually appealing. The blue really matches that constant rain fall in Seattle   Tomorrow, we will dive into the least visually appealing helmets. Surprisingly, there was some crossover between the writers and even some own-team hate.
