NFL Fantasy Football: The Top 5 Wide Receivers

facebooktwitterreddit

Just a few months separate now from the start of NFL fantasy football.  Who are the top wide receivers that owners should scramble to target?

New York. Odell Beckham Jr.. 5. player. 31. What he managed to accomplish in just 12 games, finishing with 1,305 yards and 12 touchdown is a testament to how good Odell Beckham Jr. really is.  His mix of speed, route running and sticky hands have already earned the trust of Eli Manning.  Now with Victor Cruz set to return and pull even more coverage away from him, the second-year receiver somehow may top his awesome rookie campaign.. WR

4. player. 55. He was the leading scorer last season at 251 fantasy points and there is no reason to think Antonio Brown is in danger of regressing.  He still has Ben Roethlisberger and enters the third year in the same offense under Todd Haley.  No, the only thing that could hold him back is the embarrassment of riches the Pittsburgh Steelers have at wide receiver besides him such as Martavis Bryant, Markus Wheaton and Sammie Coates.  There are only so many balls to go around.. WR. Pittsburgh. Antonio Brown

Atlanta. Julio Jones. 3. player. 44. To torch defenses a year after missing 11 games the way he did proves Julio Jones was worth every penny the Atlanta Falcons gave up to get him in the 2011 draft.  His size-speed mix is deadly enough, but if the team can start getting a few more stops on defense under new head coach Dan Quinn, that means more chances for Jones to do his things.  NFL fantasy football owners will rejoice at that notion.. WR

Green Bay. Jordy Nelson. 2. player. 49. Year after year he never seems to get the attention he deserves but Jordy Nelson doesn’t seem to care.  He just does his job, does it very well and quietly jobs back to the huddle like a true pro.  Having Aaron Rodgers assures he’ll see plenty of pinpoint passes down the field for big plays and his soft hands should lead to more touchdown opportunities as well.. WR

player. 123. To think he made just 88 catches and still managed to place fourth overall with 228 fantasy points proves how devastating Dez Bryant has become.  He scored 16 touchdowns last season and is one of the most dangerous red zone threat in the league.  Now with DeMarco Murray gone, the likelihood increases the Dallas Cowboys may have to pass more often in 2015.  Maybe bad news for them, but great news for Bryant owners.. WR. Dallas. Dez Bryant. 1
