It’s never an easy thing for a first-year general manager. They’re expected to win immediately despite most times taking over a franchise that isn’t ready to. Sometimes it’s about skill, preparation and research but other times it can be just blind luck.  That was the challenge Ryan Pace faced when he took over the Chicago Bears, who went 5-11 in 2014. Being the youngest GM in the league (38-years old) certainly gave off the impression that Pace had to be pretty smart to get where he is so quickly.  That means if he stumbled out of the gate, it would make not only him but the Bears organization look bad.  So how did he do in the 2015 NFL draft?

Coaches quickly got on the side of Amari Cooper because he was the more polished prospect. He could start immediately and run pro routes. Kevin White isn’t there yet, but in terms of talent the Bears got the better end of the deal. The West Virginia receiver is as fast or faster than Cooper, bigger (6’3″) and does some of his best work after the catch. Better still, he understands the value of hard work, having fought his way up the ladder from junior college. He won’t just be a great wing man to Alshon Jeffery. History may show he’ll be even better.. Wide Receiver. West Virginia. Kevin White. 7. player. 57
