NFL Draft Predictions Day Two: Bryce Petty Slides, Raiders Go Big!

Congratulations, you made it through the first day of the 2015 NFL Draft! Chances are, you weren’t disappointed. Now, it’s time for Day Two — which means it’s time for some bold NFL Draft predictions to throw and the wall to see if they stick.

After all, isn’t that what the Draft is all about?

Nobody would have predicted Shaq Thompson at 25 to Carolina. What about DeVante Parker slipping to 14? It’s a giant gamble, and we wouldn’t want it any other way.

Bryce Petty slips out of the 3rd round, into Day Three

Since the beginning, it’s been pretty clear that the drop-off between Marcus Mariota and the former Baylor signal-caller was too much to project anything more than a 4th-5th round pick.

The rumors of first round talk were ridiculous, and there’s a reason they didn’t materialize.

One would imagine teams such as the Bills or Saints could take a jab with a third-rounder, but the value just doesn’t appear to be there. Once Day Three rolls around, “Petty Watch” can be activated. For now, the alert shouldn’t be set on a very high level.

Oakland Raiders “win the draft” early, take Randy Gregory

The Randy Gregory slide out of the first round was inevitable; in the end, that doesn’t mean he should be falling too much further once 7:30 rolls around tonight.

Let’s just imagine this for a second — Amari Cooper and Randy Gregory, two top-five talents, to Oakland without the team making a trade. Can you say highway robbery?

Gregory has risks. There’s a reason he wasn’t taken with a team’s first overall selection.

At the end of the day, Oakland isn’t faced with a major risk here. If all works out, Derek Carr is going to be a very happy man.

Landon Collins gets to the Giants

After just a decent slide, Collins finally finds a home in the Giants, who could have been his partner in the first round.

This one would work out for both sides. The Giants have to find help in the secondary, and after adding Ereck Flowers in the first, they can pick up two first-round talents with their first two selections.

Not too shabby.
