It’s early. We all know that. But at the end of the day, Dallas Cowboys fans have to look at their team’s schedule and be impressed with what’s on the docket for next year.

Last night, the entire 2015 NFL schedule came out to the applause and often criticism of NFL fans. Some are happy with the draw that their team got; others shake their fist at the NFL office, blaming the Commissioner for giving them a tough run. For the Cowboys, things ultimately worked themselves out well.

Here are a few pluses as we look at the schedule as a whole, simply on the surface.

  • The team gets two of their first three games at home (Giants, Falcons) to begin the year. While it doesn’t seem like much, it’s important. Tony Romo and his offense thrive off momentum. They can get just that by starting the year at Jerry’s World. Not to mention, the Week Four game will even itself out, matching up against the Saints on Sunday Night Football.
  • The Week 6 bye actually comes at a rather favorable time for the team. After what looks to be a brutal test against the defending champion New England Patriots, the team will get some time off before playing two division games and the Seattle Seahawks in weeks 7-9. They’ll appreciate the well-timed break.
  • Finally, the end of the schedule looks as though it’ll play fairly favorably. In the final five tilts, the Cowboys will see the Redskins twice, the Jets and the Bills. Although there’s a road game against the Packers sandwiched in the middle, Dallas won’t complain about having four very winnable games at the bottom of the schedule.

It should be noted that Dallas does have a stretch where they’ll have four out of five games on the road. However, three of those games come against Tampa Bay, Washington and Miami.

Playoffs? Yes, we’re talking about playoffs. With Dallas’ schedule, why not?
