A signing that not many saw coming, as Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs have landed, now former Eagles receiver, Jeremy Maclin.

Here is the tweet from ESPN’s Chris Mortenson confirming the news:

Here is a quick bio on Jeremy Maclin:

"Maclin had a career year in Philly this past season posting career highs in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. Maclin really benefited from the departure of Desean Jackson to Washington. Maclin proved to be a legit threat to any defense that lined up against the Eagles. He has the speed to take the top off the defense and the hands to make difficult catches anywhere on the field. We all knew about Maclins big play ability to but questioned his durability. He played all 16 games this year after missing the 2013 with a torn ACL. That ACL didn’t seem to hold him back and now Maclin is poised and ready for an even bigger season this year. ~Tyler Morales"

Maclin proved last season that he has the ability to be a very good number one receiver in the NFL. Maclin bet on himself last season, put in the hard work during the offseason, and went out and performed each and every Sunday. Maclin earned this contract and it is relieving to see players getting rewarded for going about their business the right way.

Along with that, Andy Reid drafted Jeremy Maclin in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft, so he is very familiar with Maclin and vice versa.

Grade: B+

This grade is subject to change when the contract details come out, but this deal seems to be one made in heaven. Maclin is very familiar with the coach and the offense in Kansas City and the Chiefs were in desperate need of a receiver. Maclin will be a great addition to Andy Reid’s offense.
