Brian Hartline: Vikings, 49ers, Cardinals all Free Agency Fits?

Now that Brian Hartline has hit the NFL Free Agency market and is one of the most prized wideouts in the group, we are taking a look at some of the best fits for the veteran receiver. Can the Vikings, 49ers, or Cardinals be fits where Hartline can thrive?

When taking a look at Hartline, you can’t really blame the receiver. Miami simply looks like they want an overhaul of youth at the position, as Hartline is just one of three receivers expected to be gone once all is said and done.

From Miami to _____?

Minnesota Vikings

Many have the Vikings drafting a receiver in the first round, but that can change if they decide to make a strong run at Hartline.

With Teddy Bridgewater in major need of weapons, it’d be wise for Minnesota to take a look at the former Dolphins standout. The second-year QB can benefit from not only more options, but a veteran to lead the way of an otherwise youthful receiving corps.

Adding Hartline can have short-term effects on the Vikings; it can have long-term effects for other receivers on the depth chart. Last year, Hartline served as young WR Matt Hazel’s mentor, staying after practice almost daily to help the rookie.

One would imagine Minnesota would be very interested in a guy like Hartline.

San Francisco 49ers

This one might be a bit far-fetched, but the fit can’t be denied.

San Francisco has a recent history of bringing in a veteran wide-out who can succeed and become a go-to guy. And while Hartline might not be Anquan Boldin, he can certainly provide a similar role to make the receiving corps loaded.

No knock on Stevie Johnson, but the 49ers realize he isn’t the player to cash in when a big moment strikes.

Adding Hartline can add a near-perfect balance of veteran and youth for new OC Geep Chryst.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals’ situation at receiver provides a “next step” potential for this offseason.

Arizona’s receiving corps has had a very tough time taking the leap from good to great throughout the Larry Fitzgerald era. To fire on all cylinders for whoever might be under center in 2015 (let’s not even think about that yet), Bruce Arians should be fighting for the front office to attack a veteran option.

If added, Hartline should leapfrog John Brown and Michael Floyd for targets early and often. This fit might not be the worst idea.
