The Philadelphia Eagles were one of the league’s hottest teams midway through the NFL season. After starting out 9-3, they sure looked poised for a division title and a playoff berth. However, after dropping the next three, they found themselves on the outside looking in of the playoffs. Philly has some glaring weaknesses in the Secondary and at Linebacker. In this Philadelphia Eagles mock draft, we’ll address those needs.

Full predictions below…

Round One

Marcus Peters. 1. player. 54. The Eagles have such a glaring need at CB that it’s simply hard to ignore. Marcus Peters is arguably the most talented corner in this draft, and if it wasn’t for his dismissal at the University of Washington he’d already be off the board. Chip Kelly loves Pac-12 players and adding Peters would immediately improve the secondary. Although Kelly will have to look past the red flags Peters may potentially bring to the organization, this pick could be a steal for the Eagles. Philly needs to put character aside here and draft the best talent at corner.. CB. Washington

Round Two

2. player. 54. Chip Kelly won’t get his prized possession in Marcus Mariota, but Hundley may be a nice second choice. The Eagles reportedly love Hundley and his fit in this offense. Hundley is a athletic quarterback with a good arm. He struggles in the pocket, but the beauty of Chip Kelly’s offense is the ability to have the quarterback go out and make easy reads. Depending on how he tests out during the combine, Hundley may already be off the board. At this point however, this selection makes sense.. QB. UCLA. Brett Hundley

Round 3

Gerod Holliman. 3. player. 54. The Eagles need a commanding presence in the defensive backfield. Holliman isn’t the best tackler, but he reads the QB’s eyes as good as anyone in this draft. He causes turnovers and the Eagles need just that. In Round Three, this is a good pick with the potential of being better if he stops being “lazy”, something scouts have said about him.. Safety. Louisville

Round 4

player. 54. DeMeco Ryans tore his Achilles last year and may never be back to true form. Next to him, Casey Matthews was horrible as a replacement. Hull was arguably the best inside linebacker in the Big Ten this past year. He has a nose for the ball and is a great on-field leader. Hull accumulated 132 tackles last year for PSU. The Eagles need a secure tackler and Hull fits the need perfectly.. MLB. Penn State. Mike Hull. 4

WR. Washington State. Vince Mayle. 4. player. 54. Riley Cooper was horrible last season, showing he was grossly overpaid. Vince Mayle has the size Chip Kelly likes in his wideouts which allows him to go up and win 50-50 balls. Mayle is a nice sleeper in this draft who potentially can be very good. He needs to develop his route running but his size, pass catching ability and raw potential is something that can’t be passed on.
