2015 NFL Draft: Titans to Trade Down?

It’s hard to pick 2015 NFL Draft spots that are potential “trade down” spots, but the Tennessee Titans at #2 seem to display an impressive spot for a move in April. If Jameis Winston goes to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, expect Marcus Mariota to be taken before the New York Jets select at #6.

If the Zach Mettenberger starting rumors are true, the Titans might be willing to strike a deal that several teams would be interested in.

Oakland Raiders

Leonard Williams is the best player in this class, and while a draft day slide might be possible, the Raiders might go all in and take a shot at leapfrogging the Jacksonville Jaguars for him.

Right after Tennessee, the Jaguars need a dynamic playmaker like Williams on Gus Bradley’s squad. If the Raiders want a shot at a franchise-changing athlete, they’d be wise to look into trading up to #2.

Philadelphia Eagles

Imagine this…

A draft-day trade that sends Nick Foles to Tennessee, giving the Eagles the #2 pick for Marcus Mariota to reunite with Chip Kelly.

Is it a reach? Of course. However, it’s not totally out of question. We’ve been (and will continue to be) barraged with rumors about Kelly wanting to reunite with his former Oregon signal-caller. Why not call up the Titans for a chance at a blockbuster move?

St. Louis Rams

The cost of this move would probably be too large to handle. However, it’s worth exploring with the incredible need at the QB spot.

Mariota isn’t exactly the prototypical NFL fit, but the Rams have to take a look at potentially making this move. They were on the other end of this scenario with the Washington Redskins/RGIII situation, so this isn’t too far-fetched.

St. Louis needs a lot more than simply a QB, and Mariota isn’t exactly the safest prospect in this class. It’d be wise to hold off, but we’ve seen crazier things happen once draft day rolls around.
