NFL Bold Predictions: Week 9 Trade Difference-Makers?

In last week’s edition of NFL Bold Predictions, I struggled mightily. Week 9 should be better after a miserable performance that consisted of Colt McCoy proving me wrong with a big game, and the Pittsburgh Steelers routing the Indianapolis Colts in a game that wasn’t ever close. This week should be an improvement, but I might need a little “Luck” to get me there. (You know what’s coming!)

Without further ado, it’s time for a little fun! NFL Bold Predictions with a spotlight on the three primetime games!

Cam Newton has his best game of the season, going over 300 yards and tossing 3 touchdowns (all to different receivers)

Riddled by injuries and a few unfortunate things around him, Newton hasn’t performed in a big way this season. His game against the Cincinnati Bengals was good, but this Thursday Night Football performance should be much better.

The New Orleans Saints have the potential to give up the big play, something I can see happening early and often on Thursday. The last time these two teams played back in 2012, the Panthers scored 5 rushing touchdowns in a 44-38 win. This time, while the score should be around the same, Newton will have a big day and show up after the game on NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football set.

Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers combine for 9+ field goals on Sunday Night Football

Why not? Both of these teams have glaring issues in the secondary, but are trained to be stout in the redzone. Both Justin Tucker and Shaun Suisham will get their opportunities early and often. I’m expecting this game to be  22-19 type of final, with (bonus bold prediction) the Ravens coming out on top.

Andrew Luck bounces back against the New York Giants, leads offense to 40+ points

The Indianapolis Colts were on the bad end of a record-setting passing performance from Ben Roethlisberger last week, so what better time than now to break out and have an explosive day on Monday Night Football?

This one is simple – like the Thursday night game, this one could feature 70+ points. Think college-style shootout here. Eli Manning will keep things close, but Luck will ultimately get the big win. In honor of the Trade Deadline, I’ll also flash back to last year and the Colts’ Trent Richardson trade. In a balanced offensive attack, Richardson scores three total TDs in this one!

BONUS PREDICTION – Percy Harvin scores 2 TDs with Michael Vick on Sunday

Why not, right? Harvin needs to break out, and there’s no better time than the present.
