Things are bottoming out for the New York Jets.  As they begin to look to the future, where must they focus in the 2015 NFL draft?

Dee Milliner approaching bust status as corner problem persists

The question is honestly hard to answer because in all likelihood Rex Ryan won’t be the head coach for the Jets anymore.  So it will be the desires of whomever replaces him that will dictate where the team focuses in the draft.  Still, until that changes the team  will remain focused on the system they have in place.  Based on that there is little question the Jets are appallingly bad at cornerback.  Injuries have played their part but also the disappointing development of younger players like Dee Milliner.  Not only has he played inconsistent, but he hasn’t stayed healthy since he joined the team last season.  That potential misfire of a draft pick has put them in this position.

Best Answer To Problem:  Marcus Peters – CB – Washington

Keeping with the Ryan style of defense, it’s clear the New York Jets will target a guy who is big, athletic and thrives in man/press coverage.  There will be some options open to them in the 1st round for sure, and one they seriously need to watch carefully is Washington corner Marcus Peters.  Personality concerns aside, the kid is a natural.  He has outstanding instincts, athleticism, toughness and shows a fire and passion for the game that is infectious to his teammates.  If the Jets were able to get him in the 2015 NFL draft, it would offer so much help to a position of need.

Again, this provided Ryan somehow survives for another year.
