NFL Bold Predictions: Week 8 Full of Upsets?

facebooktwitterreddit

In this edition of NFL Bold Predictions, we go around to some of the hottest Week 8 games and see if we can throw out some storylines that folks might be talking about next Monday and Tuesday. Will Colt McCoy have success with the Washington Redskins?

It’s bold prediction time!

Colt McCoy turns the ball over four times for the Redskins, Washington loses by 20 points to the Dallas Cowboys.

Poor Colt… Every time he gets an opportunity, it seems like he is put in the worst situation possible.

This time? A road game against arguably the hottest team in the NFL at Jerry’s World. Good luck with that.

McCoy can play, but he won’t be doing much good in this game. three interceptions and a fumble seems about right here. Heck, why not just say four pick-sixes and have fun with it? Either way, this could get ugly.

The New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars both win tough road games.

Picking the Jaguars here is easy. Gus Bradley is a tremendous coach that clearly has a great thing going in that locker room, and Blake Bortles is beginning to shape up to be a decent rookie starter. Playing the Miami Dolphins, I see no reason why Jacksonville can’t pull this off.

As for the Jets, I can see them doing much of the same to the Buffalo Bills. While Buffalo did get a last-second win last week, their offense has been dreadful. It’s time for a spark in New York, and they may have found it in Percy Harvin. Besides, Geno Smith is essentially fighting for the rest of his NFL career at this point.

The Indianapolis Colts beat the Pittsburgh Steelers by 20+ points, scoring 6 touchdowns in a rout.

The Steelers just aren’t good, folks. If it weren’t for a complete meltdown by the Houston Texans last Monday night, Pittsburgh would be out of any playoff talks completely. After this week, that should be the thought around the Steel City. At home, I expect “Steeler Nation” to be quieted yet again in a brutal loss. Even worse, they’ll have to play the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9 – a game that could end the season all together.
