Victor Cruz is done for the year and the New York Giants offense is that much weaker for it.  What are some names they could pursue as replacements?

Mike Williams – Buffalo Bills

The name that has gotten the most attention is Mike Williams.  Already traded from Tampa Bay to the Buffalo Bills, the team has since granted the enigmatic receiver to seek a trade out of there as well.  His chances in the Bills offense have been sporadic at best but he has flashed that big play potential he showcased with the Bucs a few years ago.  Perhaps a legitimate shot catching passes from Eli Manning is the ticket.

Dwayne Bowe – Kansas City Chiefs

The rumors have really simmered for months.  Dwayne Bowe really isn’t the best standing with the Kansas City Chiefs at the moment, who feels he’s not earning the big contract they handed him a couple years ago.  Some of that could be his dispirited play while others argue it’s the run-first offense he’s stuck in.  Either way at age 30 many feel the Chiefs will choose to part ways with him next year, unless of course they get a favorable offer from another team.

Santonio Holmes – Chicago Bears

Another veteran who has a great history but hasn’t really been able to find their groove.  Santonio Holmes signed late with the Chicago Bears so it was obvious it would take time for him to adjust to their offense but really the 30-year old never had much of a chance to get playing time.  Not with Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, Martellus Bennett and Matt Forte all ahead of him.  Still, he’s on a cheap one-year deal and has experience playing in New York from his days with the Jets.  It wouldn’t be much of a transition.

Aaron Dobson – New England Patriots

Typically it was New York Giants players who were getting swiped by the New England Patriots, not the other way around.  However, in this case the Pats may have somebody the G-men want.  Aaron Dobson has fallen on hard times in the New England offense.  He’s been inactive for games at times and not really gotten much action when he does play.  It isn’t exactly the ideal situation for a guy who was a 2nd round pick in 2013.  Maybe shifting over to the Giants with fresh scenery is what he needs.  His speed and vertical threat capability would also help ease the loss of Victor Cruz.
