A number of top names on the 2015 NFL draft board stuck out this week in college football.  Who gave their stock the right kind of boost?

Jacoby Brissett – QB – NC State – Stock:  Up

A lot of people warned powerhouse Florida State was in trouble if they overlooked NC State and their rising young quarterback Jacoby Brissett.  The warning were almost validated.  The junior posted 359 yards through the air and 38 on the ground while tossing three touchdown passes.  Only a late surge by the Seminoles offense prevented what would’ve been the biggest upset of the college season.  Either way, Brissett will benefit big time on draft day for that performance.

Sammie Coates – WR – Auburn – Stock:  Down

Over and over people keep mentioning Sammie Coates as a top wide receiver prospect for the 2015 NFL draft but the numbers aren’t reflecting anything special.  Injury has played a part in that but the face is through four games he has five catches for 56 yards and no touchdowns.  He was largely a non-factor in the teams’ win over Louisiana Tech on Saturday.

Spencer Drango – OT – Baylor – Stock:  Up

Back surgery killed his draft stock for awhile but Spencer Drango is on the rebound in a big way.  The giant offensive tackle from Baylor continues to emerge as one of the best all around blockers in college football.  He not only is fluid and agile at 6’5″, 315 lbs but also displays the IQ and technique of a future day one starter in the pros.  Toss in the fact that his quarterback Bryce Petty hasn’t been sacked yet this season and it’s a good sign.

P.J. Williams – CB – Florida State – Stock:  Down

If there is one player who didn’t benefit from the Florida State victory over NC State it was probably cornerback P.J. Williams.  Considered one of the top cover men in the nation, he was on the field most of the plays in which Jacoby Brissett dissected the Seminoles defense.  Naturally it all can’t be put on him for the breakdowns on defense but he’s not going to benefit from it, that’s for sure, especially since it was a freshman receiver for the Wolfpack who had the big day with 103 yards and a touchdown.

Marcus Peters – CB – Washington – Stock:  Up

Meanwhile another corner continues to shoot up draft board.  Marcus Peters comes from what is widely considered one of the top defensive back factories in college at Washington.  Peters has upheld that tradition well so far.  After missing the first three games he has wasted no time fixing his sagging stock, recording his third interception in two games against Stanford.
