Monday Night Football: Bears vs. Jets QB Predictions

Monday Night Football is back, and the staff of NFLMocks is ready to do our best to project Geno Smith and Jay Cutler’s stat lines for the big Bears vs. Jets game tonight. As always, weigh in below with your predictions for Cutler and Smith. You might just get a shout-out next week if you’re on the money.

JAY CUTLER

Erik Lambert: 305 yards, two TDs throwing, one TD running and one INT: Cutler is going against a Jets secondary that wasn’t very good to start but now will be without Dee Milliner and he will have Marshall and Jeffery, who both should be healthier since last week.

Joe Wedra: 22-30, 291 yards, 3 passing TDs, no INT: After being a skeptic for most of his career, I’ve recently turned into a believer in Mr. Cutler. I love the scheme he’s in and the weapons he has. The Jets defense isn’t a slouch, but I expect the Bears signal-caller to tear it up tonight.

Sayre Bedinger: 240 yds, 3 TD, 2 INT: Cutler is going up against a tough Rex Ryan defense but the defensive backfield is nothing that will deter him from being aggressive and making big plays. I think the Jets will be able to limit Cutler’s yardage some, but they won’t be able to stop the trio of Marshall, Jeffery, and Bennett, along with Matt Forte all night from getting into the end zone. Cutler might get over-aggressive and throw a couple picks, though.

GENO SMITH

Erik: 215 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs: Smith may not have his best receiver Eric Decker as he goes against a Bears defense that is difficult to throw on. Unless he gets major help from the ground game, he won’t be able to carry the Jets by himself.

Joe: 197 yards, TD, INT: I think this is another performance where Geno is set up to fail. Decker may not be playing, and the offense in general has shown nothing to help me believe in them. Give me the Bears in a win, 27-20

Sayre: 225 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT: Smith has a huge opportunity to make a splash against the Bears on Monday night, and he’s been making some strides this year, it seems. I think he’ll play a decent game against the Bears’ secondary, but ultimately come up short.
