2014 NFL Draft Grade: Dallas Cowboys Select Demarcus Lawrence, DE, Boise State

The Dallas Cowboys have traded up into the 34th overall pick with the Washington Redskins and have selected Boise State defensive end Demarcus Lawrence.

Earlier this offseason, the Cowboys decided to let go of Demarcus Ware who signed in Denver, and now they replace him with another Demarcus.

Lawrence had been building serious first round hype of late, and Dallas despite a few really good defensive linemen still on the board felt it was worth it to go up and get him.

When I watched Lawrence this past year, there were a ton of times that he jumped off the screen and caught my eye as an edge rusher. He should be a really nice addition to a team that desperately needs pass rush.

The Cowboys traded their third round pick to the Redskins in order to make this selection.

Grade: A

This was a much needed pick for Dallas on the defensive line. A very athletic player who can get after the QB.
