The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins with the 38th pick in the 2014 NFL draft.

Scheme Fit

Without a doubt the best size-speed prospect at his position in the entire draft.  Austin Seferian-Jenkins has the ability to become the total package.  He has the power and size to block and the hands and speed to get down the field and catch passes.  There are some red flags about his healthy but the upside is enormous.

My Reaction

I was taken aback for a second then realized exactly what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are doing.  They have established a perfect offense for Josh McCown who loved to use big targets in Chicago.  With the addition of the 6’6″ Seferian-Jenkins along with Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans, this offense is loaded.  Now it’s up to Jeff Tedford to get them playing right.

Grade:  A
