2014 NFL Draft Grade: St. Louis Rams Select Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn

With the 2nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams have selected Auburn OT Greg Robinson.

Robinson is a punishing run blocker that has drawn some comparisons to Seahawks great Walter Jones. He will solidify the Rams’ offensive line and can play either RT, LT, or OG to start his career.

With Jake Long already under contract, Robinson figures to bring his athleticism to the RT or LG position initially, but he’ll assuredly be this team’s left tackle of the future.

Grade: B+

This was a predictable pick for the Rams and I thought they might get a little flashy with a guy like Sammy Watkins or Khalil Mack even, but that’s not the case. I think this is an above average pick, snagging a high upside, athletic player to solidify their OL.
