2014 NFL Draft Grade: Oakland Raiders Select Khalil Mack, LB, Buffalo

With the 5th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders have selected Khalil Mack, LB, Buffalo.

This is a huge steal for the Raiders at number five overall. Mack is arguably the best pass rusher in the draft this year, and in Dennis Allen’s defense, he will play something of a Von Miller role.

To not have to trade up in this draft for a player of Mack’s caliber, and he was considered a serious candidate for the number one overall pick to Houston, this is a great pickup for the Raiders.

Grade: A

The Raiders needed to add to their pass rush, and they did so this offseason with the additions of LaMarr Woodley, Justin Tuck, and now Mack. This is one of the smartest picks the Raiders have made in a long time.

As a lifelong Raider fan I gotta say draft day has been rough for a long time. 1st time since C. Woodson that they picked the right guy. Can’t wait to see The Mack Attack bringing back the sack to Oakland! :)
