2014 NFL Draft Grade: New York Giants Select O’Dell Beckham Jr.

The New York Giants selected receiver O’Dell Beckham with the 12th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

This pick shows that the Giants are ready to move forward. New York is a team that gets a lot of media attention, and I’m a big fan of this move. If they want that big media attention, this might be the move that gives them that.

OVERALL GRADE

I’ll give this pick a solid B. I still think that Zack Martin would have worked here, but it’s clear that Manning’s offense needed a new weapon. Beckham can bring that to the offensive side of the ball.

WHY THIS PICK MIGHT WORK

The Giants clearly need a pass catcher. He’s a guy that can catch a ton of balls and make a big splash in New York.

WHY THIS PICK COULD BE A BUST

The big thing here: will they regret not taking Martin? Time will tell.

SURPRISE OR EXPECTED?

We’ll let you the fan decide on this. Let us know below in the comment section. I think you could argue either way. This team needs to make it back to the playoffs. Will this do it? It’s hard to believe that the coaching staff doesn’t think so.
