2014 NFL Draft Grade: Dallas Cowboys Select Zack Martin, OT, Notre Dame

With the 16th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys have selected Zack Martin, OT, Notre Dame.

With all the rumors swirling the Cowboys could take Johnny Manziel, they made a smart decision and picked a guy in Martin who is a phenomenal value here at the 16th pick.

Martin is a versatile offensive lineman who will probably start at right tackle for the Cowboys, giving them a nice young trio of uglies up front with Tyron Smith and Travis Frederick, two former first round picks as well.

Pick Grade: A

The Cowboys needed to invest in the protection of Tony Romo, and Martin is a huge step forward in that. I think this is a fantastic value for Dallas and kudos to Jerry Jones for not falling into the dangerous Manziel trap. Martin is a plug-and-play at any of the five OL spots they want him at.
