2014 NFL Draft Grade: Baltimore Ravens Select C.J. Mosley

The Baltimore Ravens selected  C.J. Mosley with the 17th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

OVERALL GRADE

I’ll give this selection a B+ right here. The Ravens have been unpredictable ever since they drafted Joe Flacco in 2008 and the same trend continued somewhat here. John Harbaugh and company should be pretty happy at the end of the day.

WHY THIS PICK MIGHT WORK

The Ravens want to get back to the playoffs, and this could be the pick that puts their talent over the edge. They need speed in the linebacking corps, and I think Mosley is a guy that is elite. The Ravens had a ton of options here, but at the end of the day, I think this is a very solid pick.

WHY THIS PICK COULD BE A BUST

Mosley just needs to stay healthy. He has a ton of versatility on the defensive side of the ball. The Ravens need to make sure they can get a leader with this pick.

SURPRISE OR EXPECTED?

Ozzie Newsome is a draft genius, and he clearly had plans to make a move and surprise some people. Let us know if you expected this pick at all. Did the Ravens make the right move? Time will tell…
