  • Nevin Paustian

Yep….Ted Thompson will not trade 4 picks to move up 5 spots in the first round.

    • SayreBedinger

Correct. Traded three for one. Did you actually read?

      • Nevin Paustian

Oh I’m sorry…well that changes everything! Let me change my response:

Yep…Ted Thompson will not trade 3 draft picks to move up 5 spots in the first round.

        There. Is that better?

        • Pridenpoise

The guy is a moron, he majored in basket weaving, and someone thought it was a good idea to let him spout his irrelevant opinions about sports on here.

          • SayreBedinger

Yeah, what a shame! Never thought basket weaving would take me this far.

          • Pridenpoise

And how far is that, posting your obvious flawed opinions on Fansided, I’ve got news for you it’s not the Washington Post, but way to go Poindexter.

        • SayreBedinger

Yep, good to know you went back and corrected your error.

          • Nevin Paustian

If anything, with pryor and ha ha gone by 21, he would trade back into the early 2nd round for more picks and draft bucannon or ward and also draft Tre Boston in a later round for added safety depth, just like last year when he drafted both Lacy and Franklin at RB. Some think that thompson will take mosley if available, but there are reports that GB has shown a lot of interest in ILB Christian Kirksey who is rated in the third round. Either way, thompson puts a lot of value in his draft picks and will not give up picks in one of the deeper drafts in league history.

  • David

So Dallas has a huge need at FS with Dix sitting there and you have them trade back to take Kony who is still a bit of a reach there??? And then they dont even get a 2nd pick for the trade. And then to make things worse they take Hageman in the 2nd round. Good lord I hope the Cowboys dont play it that way.

    • SayreBedinger

Cowboys fans get mad if you take a safety and not a defensive end, and they get mad if you take a defensive end and not a safety in mock drafts. Just face it — Jerry Jones is gonna make a worse pick than I am.

      • Ashley Coonfield

I think that’s basically a dream scenario for Dallas. With Donald gone and Pryor gone trading back and getting more picks and STILL landing both Ealy and Hageman is wonderful.

  • Avery

Why would Houston trade up to get manziel when neither seattle nor denver are going to take him?

    • Bryan Staley

But do you think that Denver or Seattle would be willing to trade their pick to another QB needy team? The writer is saying that may be the case so the Texans felt the need to beat them to it! Makes sense to me……..

      • Avery

ah you got me. I didn’t fully read the explanation, I just immediately commented. thanks for the explanation

    • SayreBedinger

I made mention of that in the post. Because other teams would also want to trade up to that spot.

  • Old Frog

If the boys trade down and miss both Donald and Martin then I’m hoping the grab Su’a-Filo, otherwise I’m going to be on pins and needles for the rest of the day waiting for them to add to the O line.

  • Charles Spencer King

Entertaining gobbly goop..If the Bears take a running back in the second round I will kiss your ass at midfield opening day……

    • aj

And Stephon tuitt is still on the board at this point? Come on. No way they pick a rb in the second.

    • James William Smith Sr.

Be careful. This is what got Roddy White in trouble lol

  • Pridenpoise

The Raiders trading away two picks, to move up two spots is not only ridiculous it’s not happening, especially when we don’t even know who they are picking, but they are certainly not giving away picks that they cannot afford to lose, another comical “mock”.

    • SayreBedinger

I just think it’s funny how ‘smart’ Raiders fans think their front office is.

      • Brutus

Nobody mentioned smart. It is more a matter of looking at what Reggie has done in first two years. He turned five picks (three were compensatory and not tradable) into six in 2012 and seven (one was compensatory) into 10 last year. Not surprisingly, he operates very similar to his former employer Ted Thompson who doesn’t make flashy moves for top players in free agency or the draft. I just don’t see the Raiders or Packers giving up draft picks to trade up in the first based on the history of the two GMs. The win/loss record will eventually define whether Reggie has made smart choices with the cap room and draft picks, but the moves made his first two seasons appear smarter than most of the ones made by the team the past 12 years – so there is reason for optimism.

        • SayreBedinger

That is a fair assessment, I’d say.

      • Pridenpoise

I thinks it’s funny that any asshole with a computer can pass themselves off as writer, or should I say “blogger”.

        • SayreBedinger

I couldn’t care less what you call me. I’m fine being a blogger you’re the one leaving nasty comments on a blog. Not sure what’s more embarrassing I’ll let you decide.

          • Pridenpoise

You’re the embarrassment, I don’t need to say anything your “Blog” speaks for itself.

  • Mattia Rizzo

The Patriots will trade out from the first round and they will not get a TE in that round anyway. This class has talent but they’re not good enough to be trusted that high.

  • aj

Honestly. In the first round i would pick up a cb like dennard or roby. Heck even fuller. Then in the second I’d grab a DL in tuitt. We all now emery wants versatility and players who transcend scheme.

  • Brutus

If the Raiders make a trade in the first, it will be to move down. Reggie believes in building through the draft, so he is not going to trade a 3rd in this deep draft and a 4th next year to move up two spots. If he wants a receiver and can’t trade back, he can always take Evans if Watkins is gone – he may even prefer Evans. He may trade up in a later round, especially if he trades down in the first and gets some extra picks. I don’t see Reggie making any moves that leave him with fewer draft picks the next two years than he currently has, especially not one that results in him giving up a 3rd and 4th rounder to move up two spots.

    • gdubb

AMEN Raider brother. No way we’re trading up.

  • Roc

Chiefs are not going to pick a guard in the first round. They need a quality WR opposite of Bowe and they also could use either a cb or safety. A decent guard can be taken in the third round. I see the chiefs trying to trade back and pick up either a second rounder or another third or grab the best WR available in the first if nobody bites on a trade.

    • Bryan Staley

Guard is a bigger need than WR. I actually kinda like this pick! There are a ton of WR’s to be had in rounds 3-5 but the really good guards will be gone by the end of the second round/beginning of the third (IMO). I am of course hoping for a trade back to get extra picks, but if that isn’t possible, I like the idea of Stephon Tuitt

  • Jarod Cook

I don’t see the Browns drafting a QB at #4, instead they play the waiting game and see which QB’s fall to #26. Wouldn’t be surprised if QB’s fall again this year in the draft, probably only 1 or 2 taking before the #26 pick. Personal I’d prefer they wait till the 3rd round and draft one of the supposed second tier QB’s. IMO they’re no better or worse then the top rated QB’s of this draft. At #4 I see them drafting OT Robinson or Matthews to secure the RT position, and groom into the LT of the future when Thomas retires. They move Schwartz into RG where I fill he will be a better fit in the zone blocking scheme. And have now drastically improved the OL from what it was last year.
As for the #26 pick I’d prefer a CB, WR, or LB, but I know they’ll go QB if they passed on one at #4. The only QB who’s probably not going to be there for sure is Bortles, and a 50/50 on Manziel and Bridgewater not being there. Carr should be there, and rumors are that they like him. And it’s a bit of a stretch to grab Garoppolo.
At #35 since they’ve already taking a QB, and a OL, I believe they stay offense early and take a WR. I prefer Jordan Matthews, who IMO is the most NFL ready WR outside Watkins in this draft. Also Robinson and Adams should be there come draft day, any of them would be a nice fit at WR2.

  • Alex Darden

Cowboys get Ealy and Hageman in the 2nd?! Somebody pinch me I must be dreaming

  • David A Maupin

Guarantee CJ Mosely will not be available for the 6th pick in the second round. Top 20 for sure. Also Chicago isn’t going to pick a RB in the second round.

    • SayreBedinger

He might not. They might not. Or maybe he will. Or maybe they will.

    • TommyT

My Bear fan homey REALLY wants the Bears to take Carlos Hyde in the second if he’a there. I want my Cardinals to take him. How can you not imagine a larger Eddy Lacey type in your backfield?

  • Josh Carley

Everyone is crazy to think clowney won’t bust. A sleeper is Kyle van noy from byu. Recorded 3.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two touchdowns, one interception for a 17-yard TD return, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick in BYU’s Poinsettia bowl win vs. San Diego State
That was one game!!! A bowl game

  • Josh Carley

That’s more than clowny did his whole career

  • Johnny

Everybody (like 20 mocks) have T Zach Martin going to #19 Dolphins… Even though I love that pick , I doubt he’ll drop to them.. I can see the Giants or even Baltimore (one spot ahead of us) taking him.. In that case I can see the Fish going BPA at need with ILB CJ Mosley, the top ILB in the draft… Then go OLine, maybe T Moses in the 2nd round.. That would be the best case scenario.. But if T Zach Martin does drop #19, the Phins can’t pass on him with his versatility.. He can start day 1 at either Guard positions or RT if they don’t sign FA T Eric Winston..

    • SayreBedinger

I agree. I may experiment with some mocks where he goes earlier just to explore the other options. Thanks for your comment.

      • Johnny

        Good post..

  • Paul Newbold

Don’t you think its a bit of a reach for the Jets to grab Roby in the first? I wouldn’t hesitate to use a second on him, but he didn’t play rather well last season and is only a junior. The Jets are in desperate need of a starting corner (Patterson isn’t cutting it), I’d like them to chse Gilbert or Dennard in the first if they decide to go corner. Roby has a huge upside, but I don’t know if the Jets can afford to gamble with their #18.

    • SayreBedinger

That was a bit of a wildcard pick for this mock and I think the Jets would reach a bit for Roby but I could be wrong.

  • Letterman007

If I were the Browns, I’d rather have Allen Robinson or Davonte Adams at #26 than Cooks, Ijust don’t think he is as good as these two! also, I believe the Browns will either draft Carr with #4 or #26 not Bortles!! Another mock where The team drafts someone that the writer likes instead of best available!!!

    • SayreBedinger

I would rate Bortles as the #2 QB in this class and Carr at #4, personally. I think plenty would agree that Carr is not higher ‘rated’ than Bortles at this point.

Regarding the WRs, I view Robinson and Adams as solid 2nd round picks and Cooks as a sure-fire first rounder. That would be best available but I suppose that’s my personal preference as well.

      • Letterman007

Bortles is OK but needs more work than Carr, although he does remind me of Rothlesbergerin some ways I just think the Browns like Carr better!! As far as cooks, he catches a pass and runs OB !! He doesn’t get much yardage after the catch YAC. Therefore I rate hom no better than a second rounder, but someone will probably take him sooner, I just hope It’s not The Browns!!

  • Crusader10

I do not see the Raiders trading up in this draft. If Watkins is gone when they pick, they can get A&M’s receiver or, more likely, if these are the picks made ahead of them, they trade DOWN.

  • victorbarney

GO LOVIE SMITH! GO BUCS! P.S. FINALLY, I’M JUST LOVING IT!!! AGAIN!.THANK YOU LOVIE SMITH! WATCH BUC FANS…

  • Vick Mcfadden

    Clowney and Manziel hell yes.
