Ron Jaworski Wouldn’t Take Johnny Manziel in the First Three Rounds

Ron Jaworski analyzes quarterbacks for a living. After being pulled from the Monday Night Football crew, quarterbacks are now his main gig.

So, you have to throw him a bone here since he knows a thing or two, but he might be a little off his rocker with this statement about possible top pick Johnny Manziel.

“I’m not crazy about him, to be honest with you,” Jaws said. “I’ve only looked at five games. I wouldn’t take him in the first three rounds. That’s my opinion. It’s incomplete right now. But he has not done a whole lot to me.”

Jaws is maybe the only person on the planet who follows football and the draft that wouldn’t take Manziel in the first three rounds.

Forget for a second that Manziel likely won’t make it past the top 5 picks in this year’s draft, wouldn’t you take a low-risk shot at him in the 2nd round if you needed a QB? Even a backup?

Surely in the third round, at pick number 99 (a compensatory pick for some team) you would consider taking a former Heisman Trophy winner who is considered a top 10 prospect by most, and at worst top four or five at his position.

I don’t know if this is sour grapes or what, but this analysis by Jaws is way out there.
