The 40 yard dash doesn’t really matter for offensive linemen, but teams definitely pay attention to guys that are nearly 330 pounds who can run under 5 seconds in the drill.
That’s exactly what Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson did, running unofficial 4.84 and 4.88 in the 40 yard dash at the Scouting Combine.
Robinson is considered to be the best offensive tackle in the draft by NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, and he’s risen to that spot on many other boards over Jake Matthews as well.
Certainly the performance by the offensive tackles athletically cemented the Rams’ plans to take one of them, but they will be able to trade down and pick one of three of them if they so choose.
Robinson’s 10-yard splits were both under 1.70, checking in at 1.68 and 1.69. This dude has some serious quicks and his explosiveness will certainly generate positive attention from scouts.
