In this week’s edition of “Johnny Lately” we take a look at what the sophomore QB (still hard to believe that’s a fact) is doing for Texas A&M, and it’s more good things.

Just one week after getting beat by Alabama, Manziel and the Aggies were back to their winning ways against SMU, and Manziel was pretty good both running and throwing the football. He had a grand total of 346 yards with two rushing touchdowns and one passing, and Texas A&M was in such control of this game that they were able to get two of their backup quarterbacks some work on the day.

To me, Manziel hasn’t done anything to disprove that he’s a great fit for today’s NFL game. If he can clean up his act off the field, I think there’s no doubt in my mind he’s going to be a big hit in the league as well. But that’s the biggest issue with Manziel–can he handle himself off the field?

Other news from this game that is NFL Draft related is that wide receiver Mike Evans–who has been lighting it up this year–had only two catches but still racked up 57 yards. He is still ranked 2nd in the NCAA by a wide margin with 575 yards receiving.

Another receiver for Texas A&M is making a little bit of noise the last two weeks as well. Junior Malcome Kennedy has had two straight games with six catches and has racked up 140 yards and four touchdowns. He’s not dominating like Evans has, but he’s starting to get my attention.

The Aggies have Arkansas up next.
