Quarterback — Carson Palmer (33)
Backups — Drew Stanton (29); Ryan Lindley (24)
With Bruce Arians now the head coach in Arizona, you can bet that Carson Palmer is going to be airing it out quite a bit. I think the Cardinals actually have a decent chance to surprise some people this season, and they’re going to do it by throwing the ball a ton. That’s where I feel like Carson Palmer has some upside. He only threw 22 touchdown passes last year in Oakland, but Larry Fitzgerald is leaps and bounds better than any receiver Palmer has ever played with, including the great days of Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh.
I think Palmer is the biggest sleeper out there with QB1 potential that no one is really talking about in fantasy circles. He has underachieved since “retiring” from the Bengals, but maybe a little dose of humility in Oakland can help turn his career around. Arizona is a passer-friendly offense with some really intriguing targets outside of Fitzgerald, including 2012 first rounder Michael Floyd and rising TE Rob Housler.
Palmer’s primary backups are Drew Stanton and Ryan Lindley, who have almost no fantasy upside if forced into action.
