The 2013 NFL Draft order is officially set after Monday’s annual announcement of compensatory picks, awarded to teams who lost free agents in 2012. The formula for compensatory picks is complicated, but the short of it is teams who lose more compensatory free agents than they bring in get compensatory picks, and the more money their players sign for, the higher the pick they are eligible for.

Compensatory draft choices are not eligible to be traded, which is why a team like San Francisco has some re-working to do with their board now having a total of 14 selections in April’s draft.

The Houston Texans were awarded the highest compensatory pick (third round, 95th overall), and the Indianapolis Colts will be picking Mr. Irrelevant for the second consecutive season (254th overall pick) after picking Northern Illinois quarterback Chandler Harnish in that spot last year. Here is a full list of compensatory picks released by the NFL.
