Don’t look now but Ndamukong Suh isn’t the only player on the Detroit Lions getting fined for rough-shot hits on opposing players.
According to Detroit Lions defensive end Lawrence Jackson, via his Twitter account, he was fined $15,750 for hitting Michael Vick last weekend. He plans on appealing the fine.
Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press wrote the following about the fine Friday:
Defensive end Lawrence Jackson was fined $15, 750 for hitting quarterback Michael Vick below the knees in the Lions’ 26-23 overtime victory over the Philadelphia Eagles last week.
Jackson was penalized 15 yards on the play, one of 16 penalties the Lions had in the game, but the drive stalled after the Lions recovered a bad shotgun snap late in the first quarter.
Dave Birkett also added that Lions receiver Nate Burleson was fined $10,000 for his touchdown celebration where he mimicked shooting a gun at a bird—most likely an Eagle. Burleson will appeal the fine.
