Top Five Remaining OL: Mike Adams Still Lingers

facebooktwitterreddit

The offensive linemen came off the board much later than most expected in the 2012 nfl draft first round. There are also a lot of offensive linemen left that I have as first round talents.

Scouting reports for these players can be found on our scouting report page

Offensive linemen drafted already:

Matt Kalil (#4 to the Vikings)

Riley Reiff (#23 to the Lions)

David Decastro (#24 to the Steelers)

Kevin Zeitler (#27 to the Bengals)

Best OL Available

1. OG/OT Cordy Glenn Georgia

Glenn is a massive offensive linemen prospect with good length and feet for a big guy. His biggest problem is he’s a waist bender which is probably what kept him out of the first round. Potential to play LT, G, or RT Glenn should be one of the first five picks off the board in the second round.

2. C Peter Konz Wisconsin

Konz is better than Mike Pouncey from last year to me. The concerns about Konz are two fold. The first is the issue of a history of injuries that could give teams some concern. Second his is functional strength. Teams, especially those that play a lot of 34 are worried about him holding up against the bigger defensive linemen in the league. Konz is considered extremely intelligent in terms of his football intelligence.

3. Tackle Jonathan Martin Stanford Cardinal

Jon Martin is an athletic offensive linemen who was considered a top 15 pick prior to the season. Martin is athletic and has the requisite size. He has a label of “soft” and isn’t well received by most in the league.

4. OT Mike Adams Ohio State

Mike Adams is an extremely athletic and long offensive tackle. Adams looks the part of a franchise LT, but was apart of the Ohio State scandal, failed a drug test at the combine, and coasted throughout games during the 2011 college football season. Adams can play LT for a decade in the NFL if he wants to, and because of that some team is going to take the chance on him soon.

5. Amini Silatou, G, Midwestern State

Silatou is a mauler for Midwestern state. Silatou has a reputation of being a very high upside player. A player that was considered to be a favorite for the 49ers in round one.
