New York Jets 2012 NFL Draft Preview

Preview provided by Alan Schechter. Head to The Jet Press for more on the New York Jets.

What are the team needs for the Jets heading into the draft?

The biggest need for the Jets is a pass rusher off of the edge. A part time player (Aaron Maybin), leading the team in sacks, is just unacceptable. Other than that, depth on the offensive line, safety and running back, with WR being a need, but a bit on the backburner.

Who are some prospects you’d like to see end up with the Jets?

Melvin Ingram from South Carolina is one guy. He is a beast, and the Jets may trade up to get him. If not him, Quinton Coples from South Carolina is a guy I really like. Later on, it would be great to see them add Nick Toon at wide receiver.

What would represent a successful draft in your opinion?

Getting an impact pass rusher, and a safety that can save us from Eric Smith. A tackle to get Wayne Hunter off the team would be nice, but I don’t want to get too greedy.

Give us a bold prediction for your team.

The Jets add a pass rusher that serves to be their DeMarcus Ware, and they are near the top of the league in defense again.
