Peyton Manning working out for the Denver Broncos today

A week into ManningWatch, there is still only speculation where #18 will land.

The Denver Broncos brass flew to North Carolina this morning to work out Manning. With them included the likes of Executive VP John Elway, Head Coach John Fox, Quarterbacks Coach Adam Gase, General Manager Brian Xanders and the teams medical team. This seemed to be quite a haul just to watch a workout as it has been reported that Manning will work out for the Titans after today.

Soon after the Broncos’ officials landed and began with the workout, Adam Schefter dropped the bombshell that there is a dark horse team. The San Francisco 49ers, on Tuesday, were said to have flown Head Coach John Harbaugh, Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman, and a medical team to work out Manning. The Niners were pleased with the work out and administered a physical to Manning.

So the finalist’s are now the Broncos, Titans, and 49ers.

Having all of the decision makers along with them today, it could be that the Broncos do not want Manning to go work out witht he Titans. The waiting on Manning has tied up the Broncos, potentially causing them to lose out of NT Paul Soliai and John Abraham, whom they had interest in but players ended up resigning with their prior teams.

Mike Klis of the Denver Post has reported that the three finalists are working off of Manning’s old contract and are in the range of $90 million over 5-years.

No one knows for sure how long ManningWatch will continue, but until it does there will be plenty of eyes on the future Hall of Famer.
