Well the Redskins were serious about improving their passing game this year. The Redskins have added two young playmakers at Wide receiver with Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan. Garcon is inconsistent, but is a good deep option with speed to burn. Josh Morgan was a breakout candidate before getting injured and missing much of the 2011 season.
Last year the Redskins also added Leonard Hankerson in the draft. With Santana Moss as well the Redskins now have four playmakers at wide receiver as opposed to 1. This is important because the offenses in the N.F.C. East are terrific. The Giants have Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nick. The Eagles have Jackson and Maclin. The Cowboys have Bryant and Austin. Garcon/Morgan isn’t quite that good, but it’s much closer than it was before. The difference with these signings for the Redskins is that these players are an infusion of youth, not over-priced and old veterans just looking for a payday. What the problem here though is also that unlike if they had landed Vincent Jackson the Redskins now have a collection of 4 #2 type wide receivers.
