Oklahoma Quarterback Landry Jones Returning for Senior Season

by NFL Draft

Landry Jones likely could have crept back into the top ten discussion with Matt Barkley deciding to return to school for a senior season. However, he doesn’t want to creep into the top ten, he wants to earn it by achieving goals he set out when he came to Oklahoma:

“I want to accomplish the goals that I set before I got here, and there is still a lot more to do,” Jones said. “I want to make sure I’ve exhausted every effort in that area. And I want to be a senior. I enjoy being at OU and with my teammates and look forward to graduating with the guys that were in my class when I got here.”

Jones has a strong arm and is a tough, fierce competitor–those are qualities we can not and will not ignore. But he struggled in his senior season, specifically down the stretch where he went through three games where he didn’t throw a single touchdown pass.

Hopefully next year, Jones can rebound from a poor junior campaign and show NFL scouts what had him in the top 10 projections in the first place.

@NFLMocks smart move by Landry. Very inconsistent year with his footwork and pocket awareness. Needs to work hard this offseason on ftwork.
