My Fantasy Preparations      Record 11-2

Opponent (Playoff Finals)

X-Men

Record 10-3

Transactions:

I picked up Donald Brown and Khalil Bell and dropped Deion Branch and Jake Ballard.  With Branch and Ballard’s injuries I felt they were  wasting roster spots.  I will not be playing either Brown or Bell, but I did not want my opponent to use them against me.  Sometimes fantasy football is petty and picking up players and hoarding them can be effective from time to time.  Besides Brown has been productive lately and Khalil Bell appears to be the starter in  Chicago.

Starters

Matthew Stafford was my best draft pick.  I waited and selected him in the latter part of Round 7 knowing full well my Fantasy Team hung on his fragile Shoulders…I was rewarded and now might keep him in my keeper league.  This week he plays the Chargers at home.  Since  Stafford   has recovered from his finger injury he has been a fantasy stud.  The Chargers are a top 10 defense against quarterback points but  Stafford  is matchup proof at home.

At RB I am starting Ray Rice versus the Browns.  Ray Rice has been a PPR stud and has an okay matchup.  In fact, the last meeting against the Browns Rice ran for over 200 yards.  I would be happy for production even close to that.

Why is McFadden still hurt?????  I mean this is getting on preposterous.  He was supposed to be back by now; this is the last year I draft Run DMC.  I am lucky I drafted Marshawn Lynch and held off cutting him earlier in the season.  Marshawn has a troublesome matchup this week against the 49ers that are the best against the run in the NFL.  I am considering benching him but with Helu playing the Vikings and Donald Brown playing the Texans I do not have a starting RB who has a good matchup.  I shortly considered starting Ben Tate vs. the Colts but he has not had a touchdown or ran for over 60 yards since Schuab’s injury. I feel my best choice is playing Roy Helu vs. the Vikings.

Wes Welker is playing the Dolphins this week.  Wes Welker has owned the Dolphins since being traded by them to the Patriots.  The Dolphins are solid verse the pass but as stated Welker should post a solid outing.

Jordy Nelson has been one good game, followed by, one okay game all season long.  That being said he has had his best season as a professional.  His production has been limited by the amount of weapons the Packers have, not by his performance.  Last week he was shut down by a very good secondary.  This week he plays the Bears at home and I expect Rogers and company to roll.  Nelson should be in your starting lineup this week.

Along with Lynch, Laurent Robinson has been a fantasy savior.  Even with Miles back Robinson has scored a touchdown in both games.  Robinson is Romo’s security blanket and red zone target.  This week he goes against the Eagles at home.  Since Bryant and Austin will draw Ashomugha and Samuels, Robinson will have the best matchup and should post huge numbers.

TE Jimmy Graham is going to make life hard when I have to choose my keeper list.  Playing on the Saints Graham will get to play with Brees for the foreseeable future.  This week Graham plays the Falcons at home.  The Falcons are giving up the 12th most points to TE’s.  As always start Graham and ask no questions.

Utility position goes to Steve Johnson.  His status is in question, but Johnson has played hurt all season long.  Playing the Broncos at home will be difficult but Johnson is my best bet.  I am expecting a solid outing but far from dominant.

Dan Bailey plays the Eagles at home.  With the game likely to be a slug fest I expect Bailey to get plenty of work.

Cowboys’ defense plays the Eagles at home.  I am a bit uncomfortable playing the Cowboys verse the Eagles but I expect the Cowboys to get a few turnovers and plenty of sacks…they will be giving up 24+ points though.

Foe:

Sun Tzu states, “Know thy enemy.”  My enemy is my friend who has had a dominant season.  He is 10-3 (11-3 if you count his playoff win).  It should be noted I am 2-0 against him.  This makes me nervous since my team can only defeat him so many times in a season.

He has Drew Brees at home verse the Falcons.  The Falcons are giving up the 10th most points and Brees should have a dominant outing.  I only hope he throws most his touchdowns to Graham.

At RB he is starting Michael Bush atKansas City.  Bush has slowed down recently and the Chiefs run defense has improved.  I do not expect too much from Bush.  His other RB is Marion Barber playing atGreen Bay.  Barber is a touchdown vulture but lost touches to  Bell  last week.  My opponent’s RB position is not very frightening.

At WR he has Steve Smith playing the Buccs at home.  Aquib should limit his production a bit, but Smith will get his.  His other two WR’s are Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks playing the Jets.  Jets are giving up the 3rd least points to WR’s.  I expect Revis to shut one down and Cromartie to limit the other.

At TE Antonio Gates is playing atDetroit.  The Lions are shutting opponents TE’s down this season.  I expect Gates to have a decent game but far from dominant.

At Utility he has Felix Jones playing the Eagles.  I hope Jones is as injured as reported because otherwise he should have a very good game against a less than average run defense.

His K/Def combo is Mason Crosby and the Jets. Crosbyplays the Bears at home and should have a decent outing.  The Jets play the Giants and should produce an average outing.

Prediction:

Yahoo predicts a victory for me.  Given the lack of production from his running backs and the fact that 2/3rd of his receivers play the Jets stingy pass defense, I think Yahoo is correct.  I am expecting a close win for me and the 3rd straight victory for me over the Children of the Atom.  Children shouldn’t play in a grownup game.
